Man Charged After Throwing Boiling Water on Wife

COLUMBUS (Jen French)-- A Columbus man was charged with domestic violence and felonious assault after detectives say he threw a pot of boiling water on his wife of 20 years.

43-year-old James Collins was in court Saturday morning. A judge signed a temporary restraining order to keep Collins from contacting his wife.

According to police, the couple has two children together.
Officers said the burning incident happened on August 8 after the couple got into an argument at their home on N Hague Ave.

The woman didnt seek help until days later. A neighbor found her crying by the street on August 16.

The wife suffered from second and third degree burns. She was taken to OSU Medical Center.

Collins was given a $75,000 bond.
