OSU Student Leaders Move Into Dorms
COLUMBUS (Kellie Hanna) -- A large numbers of students are returning to The Ohio State University both on Thursday and Saturday.
About 1,400 OWLs or Ohio State Welcome Leaders will be moving in to the residence halls on Thursday and then approximately 7,000 students will move into the residence halls on Saturday.
The "OWL" move-in will occur Thursday, August 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. which means traffic will be heavy on the streets near the residence halls.
There will be traffic restrictions as well. During this time, 12th Ave., between Neil Ave. and College Rd., will be eastbound only.
Also plan for minimal parking on campus, and around the Schottenstein/Buckeye Lot area.
The rest of the students move in Saturday, August 17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Central campus will be closed to all non-move-in traffic during that time, and significant traffic delays are anticipated.
Motorists are strongly discouraged from driving through the campus area on Saturday.
Please anticipate minimal parking availability throughout the campus area all weekend and OSU officials ask you to avoid the OSU campus until you are moving in.
