Man Robbed, Shot in Leg Outside of Gas Station

COLUMBUS (Brooke Stromp) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect that robbed and shot a victim at a gas station on the south east side of town.

Columbus Police responded to the Marathon Gas station at 4755 Refugee Road after 2 a.m Saturday. Victim Kendell Hardy told investigators he was approached by an unknown man with a weapon while standing at the outside service window to the gas station.

Hardy, 27, complied with the suspect's demands and gave the suspect his money. The suspect struck Hardy with the weapon and then fired a shot striking him in the high.

Hardy then fled the scene in his vehicle and called police. He was later taken by medics to Grant Hospital in non life threatening condition.

The suspect is described as a black male, between the age of 18 to 22-years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, short hair and had gold teeth.
