ABC 6 INVESTIGATES: Construction to Begin on Gee's New OSU Office

COLUMBUS (Brooks Jarosz/Ken Hines) -- Construction will soon begin on a new campus office for former Ohio State University President Gordon Gee.

Early estimates on the cost of the Page Hall office topped $190,000, but university officials have since scaled back the renovation plans.

ABC 6 investigators obtained records indicating the estimated cost of the office is now approximately $50,000.

Gee and his staff, according to an agreement with OSU officials, will work out of the second floor of Page Hall after the project is finished.

The construction now calls for changes to the building -- including carpeting and painting -- that are less drastic changes than those that were previously planned.

The office will include space for Gee, his assistant, another staff member, and any student support.

Gee will also have a second faculty office at the Moritz College of Law, where he will teach.
