Linden Homeowner Catches Would-Be Burglar on Camera

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Security cameras installed by a Linden-area homeowner caught a would-be burglar in action on Tuesday.

Gregg Fisher installed cameras on his home because of a recent rash of burglaries in the area. Those cameras soon captured images of a suspect unsuccessfully attempting to break into his home.

"He checks the doors and windows, [but] he did not get in," said Fisher, who decided to release the footage to local media outlets.

"I figured since he wants to be on video, might as well put it on, embarrass the hell out of somebody. Make something happen," he said.

Fisher has been the victim of several crimes while living and working in the Linden area, where he also owns a business.

"In my neighborhood alone there has been an upswing of crime, and I'm personally tired of it," he said. "After a while, you get tired of going to work and someone is inside after you leave."

Fisher's security cameras are equipped with motion sensors that send alerts to his phone when activated.
