South East Shooting Leaves One Critical

COLUMBUS (Brooke Stromp) -- Three people are in custody after an altercation led to a shooting that critically injured a male victim.

According to Columbus Police, the male victim and his friends were confronted by a group in a parking lot near Refugee Road around 2 a.m on the city's south east side of town.

The male victim was shot and driven by friends to the intersection of Countryview Drive and Refugee Road. Friends flagged down a CPD Officer who was working in the area.

Medics responded and took the male victim to Grant Hospital in critical condition. Authorities believe the victim will survive his injuries.

Three suspects were taken into custody. The identities of the victim and suspects have not been released at this time.
