Authorities Seize Hundreds of Pot Plants During Union Co. Raid

DARBY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Ken Hines) -- A major marijuana bust resulted in the seizure of more than 500 pot plants Tuesday evening in Union County.

Officers with the Union County Multi Agency Drug Enforcement Task Force raided the home at 14950 Fladt Road, where they seized 564 marijuana plants, along with guns and pot growing equipment.

The plants, which were grown outside the home, have a street value of $560,000, according to Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton.

"This was a rather large and sophisticated growing operation," Sheriff Patton said. "With the size of this operation, it is apparent that the owners have some knowledge of horticulture and hydroponics."

Investigators have not released information about possible arrests associated with the raid. The case is expected to be presented to a Union County Grand Jury in the near future, according to the sheriff's office.
