Craigslist Ads Lead to Two Robberies in Columbus
COLUMBUS (Steve Levine/Ken Hines) -- Police are investigating two robberies involving Craigslist ads that occurred within an hour of each other Tuesday night.
The first incident occurred at the UDF at 4775 Sunbury Road when a female suspect stole a laptop from two women, then injured the victims by dragging them while driving away from the robbery scene.
The women suffered burns and bruises when the suspect -- driving a black 1995 Chevy Caprice -- sped away with the computer without warning.
For me I am physically o.k. --mentally I am not. I feel kind of scared, one of the victims said.
Less than an hour after that robbery, two OSU students reported being held up at gunpoint in East Columbus while responding to a Craigslist post advertising a television.
The students were ordered at gunpoint to drive to a nearby ATM, according to police.
Investigators have not determined if the two robberies are related. Anyone with information about the crimes is encouraged to contact the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.
