Man Killed Outside East Side Carryout

COLUMBUS (Brooke Stromp)-- A man has died after an altercation led to a late night shooting.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooing after 10:30 p.m. on the city's east side.

When officers arrived at the Quick Stop gas station at 2776 East 5th Avenue, they found victim  Dustin Amoroso.

Amoroso, 28,  had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to the OSU Wexner Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators believe Amoroso had been involved in a physical altercation with suspect Timothy Wofford. The fight took place in front of the Quick Stop gas station.

When the altercation ended Wofford, 19, retrieved a handgun and shot Amoroso multiple time.

Anyone with information on Wofford's whereabouts is asked to contact the Columbus Homicide Squad at 645-4730.
