Craigslist Exchange Ends in Gunfire
COLUMBUS -- A man thought he was going to be buying a car he found for sale online, but later ended up getting shot at.
It all started at around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the area 3273 Deer Path Dr. on the southwest side.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, a man found a vehicle for sale on Craigslist and met up with the seller. However, when the buyer pulled out the money for the vehicle, investigators say the seller pulled out a gun and started shooting at the suspect. Detectives say the victim also fired a gun during the dispute.
At one point, deputies say the suspect went to a house and asked to use the phone. The homeowner flagged down police and told them where the suspect went.
With the help of numerous agencies and tools, deputies were able to track down the suspect in the area of 3285 Big Run South.
The victim wasn't hurt in the incident.
The name of the suspect wasn't immediately released.
