Several Cars Broken Into During OSU Game Day Weekend

COLUMBUS (Jen French)--It wasn't just the Buffalo Bulls who lost Saturday--several football fans had their cars broken into at a hotel near OSU's campus.

According to Columbus Police reports, 9 cars were broken into at the Fairfield Inn on Olentangy Road overnight Saturday.

Though Steve Elliott's doors were locked, it didn't stop thieves from smashing his window. A father of two OSU undergrads, Elliott came to the game with his wife.

"We had a GPS and some tools that I bring down for just house repairs on my kids' rental home down here," Elliott said.

ABC 6/FOX 28 spoke to a manager at the Fairfield Inn. Customers who were broken into between Friday night and Saturday morning weren't charged for that night's stay. Hotel security was also increased.

If you have any information about this crime, you're asked to call Columbus Police 614-645-4545.
