Shutdown Impacting OSU Workers, Students
COLUMBUS (Chris Vanocur) -- ABC 6 has obtained information that shows how The Ohio State University is being impacted by the federal shutdown.
According to our information:
- More than 100 workers have reportedly been furloughed or reassigned
- The university has delayed some grant proposals
- Visas for faculty and staff have gotten bogged down
- Tuition has been jeopardized for some students including military members
"I am doing the ROTC here, and I can't contract for the ROTC because of the government shutdown, and a lot of the workers aren't even working," a student and national guard member said.
Millions in research grants could also be in jeopardy if the shutdown continues to drag on, according to our information.
