Group Offers Reward for Info About NE Columbus Pit Bull Abuse
COLUMBUS (Steve Levine) -- A national animal rights organization is offering a $5000 reward in connection with the brutal abuse of a one-year-old pit bull.
The male dog was found last week in the Tamarack Circle neighborhood with severe injuries to his head and brain.
The Humane Society of the United States has announced that it will provide the reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person responsible for the abuse.
"We really need information so we can hold these people responsible for the heinous acts," said Rachel Finney, Executive Director of the Capital Area Humane Society. "We need to the make sure justice is served."
The dog's owner has been located, and has transferred ownership of the animal to the Capital Area Humane Society for treatment.
