Columbus Family Remembers Victims of Unsolved Arson
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Members of a central Ohio community are waiting for answers three years after a fire resulted in the deaths of two adults and a baby.
A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday to honor Deanna Perry, her 20-year-old grandson Charles Climber, and 7-month-old Brianna Smith, who died in 2010 when a Yale Ave. home was set on fire by an unknown arsonist.
Police believe the investigation into the fire was headed in the right direction before the flow of leads related to the case slowed.
"We do have something, I just need somebody else to corroborate that," Det. Patricia Clark said. "That will lead us in the direction that we need to go to find the suspect."
Family members posted a sign Tuesday morning at the former site of the home that reads, "Never forget October 15, 2010.
"I know it's been a nightmare for me. I wake up every day and realize all over again I'm never going to see them," Rebecca Climer said. "We have no justice, no closure, and no nothing, and it's really hard."
