Deputies Identify Alleged Gunman in Marion Shooting Investigation
MARION (Ken Hines) -- Deputies have arrested a man accused of obstructing a shooting investigation, but the alleged gunman continues to elude authorities.
Marion County deputies arrested Timothy Persinger on Wednesday as part of their investigation into an October 28 shooting on Euclid Ave.
Authorities have charged Persinger, 35, with obstructing official business, though the nature of his connection with alleged shooter Joshua Bright has not been publicly described by investigators.
Bright (aka Bill Champ) is accused of shooting a man multiple times on Euclid Ave. after threatening to rob him. The victim told police Bright fled after the shooting without stealing any of his personal items.
The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
Bright, 32, is described as 6'2" inches tall and 170 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is charged with attempted aggravated murder, felonious assault, and aggravated robbery.
Investigators advise that anyone who sees Bright should avoid confronting him, and instead report his location to authorities.
Deputies are also searching for Danny E. Logan, who, like Persinger, is charged with obstructing official business in connection with the shooting investigation.
Anyone with information about the suspects and/or shooting is encouraged to contact the Marion County Sheriff's Office at 740-382-8244, or the Marion Crime Tip Line at 740-387-TIPS (8477).
