Man Dies in Marion Two-Vehicle Crash

MARION (Kate Liebers) -- One man died and two were injured Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Routes 95 and 203 in Marion County.

Driver George T. Underwood of Marion was pronounced dead at the scene, shortly after 11 a.m. The driver of the other vehicle, Joel R. Crosley of Washington Court House, sustained non-life threatening injuries; his passenger, James B. Crosley, had serious injuries.

Joel Crosley, who was traveling northbound on SR-203 in a pickup truck, failed to adhere to the stop sign at the intersection with SR-95, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Underwood, who was traveling westbound on SR-95 and also in a pickup truck, struck the passenger side of Crosleys truck. Both vehicles veered off the northwest corner of the roadway and into a field.

Joel Crosley was transported to Marion general Hospital by ambulance; passenger James Crosley was transported to Grant Hospital by helicopter.
Troopers from the Marion Post were assisted at the scene by Marion County Sheriffs Department, New Vision Fire Department and Ohio Department of Transportation.
