New Albany Bus Crash Injures 4 Columbus Students

NEW ALBANY (Ken Hines) -- At least four students were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital after a Wednesday morning crash involving a school bus.

Approximately 25 Cornerstone Academy students were riding in the Columbus City Schools bus at the time of the crash at Harlem and Bishops Wood Roads in New Albany at approximately 7:30 a.m.

The hospitalized student's conditions have not been released, though police have stated their belief that the injuries are not life-threatening.

The crash occurred after a car ran a stop sign and struck the bus before slamming into another vehicle, according to investigators. No injuries involving the cars' occupants have been reported.

Non-injured students were transported to Cornerstone Academy via a second bus.

Harlem and Bishops Wood Roads were closed in the area while police investigated the crash.
