Police Searching for Serial Robber

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- Detectives are asking for your help in identifying a person they believe is behind several armed robberies around the area.

The most recent case happened Tuesday night at 9 P.M. at the Karl Road Food Market.

Police say the clerk opened fire on the man as he ran away with cash, but they don't think the robber was hit.

Columbus Police released a photo of the man who was caught on surveillance video Sunday during an armed robbery at the Trabue Food Mart at the corner of Wilson Rd. and Trabue Rd. on the city's west side.

In that case, the man walked up to the counter while talking on his cell phone.

He asked for a certain cigar brand before hanging up and pointing a gun at the clerk.

"I don't want anybody to pull a gun on my employee no I'm not going to take it," said Trabue Food Mart owner, Himanshu Patel.

Investigators believe the same suspect in this crime is responsible for similar crimes in Bexley, Whitehall, Grove City, and in Pickaway County.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

If you recognize this suspect, you're asked to call police at 614-645-4545.
