BREAKING: Officer-Involved Shooting in West Columbus

COLUMBUS (Adam Slinger) -- Investigators are trying to determine what lead up to an officer opening fire on someone.

It occurred at around 7:00 p.m. in a room at the Americas Best Value Inn hotel at 1313 W. St. James Lutheran Lane on the city's west side.

Details of the shooting haven't been released.

Investigators say the initial call was for a person stabbed.  When officers got there, they say they found a man stabbing himself.  It's not known what happened next that caused a police officer to shoot his weapon.

The man was taken to a hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.  No officers were injured.

The names of those involved weren't immediately released.
