Police: Columbus Student Punches, Bites Teacher

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A central Ohio high school student accused of punching a biting a teacher appeared in court Wednesday morning.

Authorities charged Columbus Scioto 6-12 student Jayde Johnson with assault in connection with her alleged attack on teacher Timothy Foster, who was hurt while trying to break up a fight at the school on Tuesday.

Investigators believe Johnson, 18, punched Foster in the face and bit his arm as the teacher attempted to place her in a control hold.

A judge set Johnson's bail amount at $10,000 on Wednesday.
