Volunteers Raise Money for Typhoon Victims

COLUMBUS (Jen French)Relief is starting to surface after Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. The Philippine American Society in Central Ohio served brunch Saturday at the Hills Market Downtown to raise money for storm victims.

Melissa Abiva Fata lost her cousin Roseabel to the storm. Her cousins 4-year-old son Carlo is still missing.
An estimated 4,200 people have died from the disaster.

All proceeds go to the American and Philippine Red Cross. The Philippine American Society in Central Ohio will present a check to the American Red Cross Monday.

You can also help people by donating to the Red Cross online at or through the Salvation Army by texting Typhoon to 80-888 to donate $10.
