Police Search for Man After W. Columbus House Fire

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A West Side woman claims her exit led her boyfriend to set his house on fire.

Arson investigators are examining evidence at the home at 544 S. Oakley Ave., which caught fire at approximately 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

A woman claiming to be the occupant's girlfriend told ABC 6/FOX 28 her boyfriend set the home's curtains on fire in response to her decision to leave the property.

Columbus police had been called to the home before the blaze started, and were quickly joined at the scene by fire crews, who quickly extinguished the flames.

Police are searching for the home's occupant, who fled the scene after the fire started.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
