Man Shot at Burger King Remembered Fondly
ZANESVILLE (Jen French) - - The man who was shot and killed in a Zanesville Burger King is being remembered as a person who would help a stranger in need.
Witnesses said 61-year-old Charles Mike Hooper was a regular at the fast food restaurant. Halloween morning, they say he intervened in an argument between a man and a woman.
Muskingum County deputies say 34-year-old Timothy Daniel then shot Hooper.
Former high school classmate, Alan Cottrill, said Hooper was friendly and an introvert, but hes not surprised Hooper was defending someone.
He had an honor code--he just did the right thing, Cottrill said. I think that identified him in high school--and I'm sure it did throughout life."
Daniel was indicted for aggravated murder, felonious assault, having a weapon under disability, carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a fire arm in a vehicle. Jamie Jarrett, 33, is accused of providing the getaway ride. He was indicted on two counts of obstruction of justice.
