Shots Fired at Cop in NE Columbus; Police Search for 2nd Person of Interest

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police want to speak with a second person in connection with the alleged attempted shooting of an officer near a central Ohio apartment complex.

Investigators are questioning an unnamed person of interest believed to be involved in the incident, which occurred Sunday at approximately 9:30 p.m. outside the Morse Glenn Apartments complex at the intersection of Morse and Chesford Roads.

The officer was patrolling the complex's parking lot when an unknown assailant fired shots in his direction, leading the officer to return fire, according to investigators.

Police do not believe anyone was struck by the gunfire.
