Upper Arlington Doctor Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charge
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A former pediatric doctor could spend a decade in prison after pleading guilty to a child pornography charge.
Upper Arlington resident Christopher Pelloski pleaded guilty to one charge of accessing child pornography in federal court on Friday, according to U.S. Attorney Carter Stewart.
Authorities began investigating Pelloski after his computer was allegedly used to access a peer-to-peer website associated with illegal content.
Investigators searched computers and other electronic devices belonging to Pelloski on July 16, 2013, and found approximately 85 images of child pornography, according to U.S. District Court affidavit.
Under questioning, Pelloski admitted to a Franklin County detective that he downloaded child porn to a computer owned by The Ohio State University, according to the affidavit.
Pelloski was the Director of the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Program at The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center until the federal charge was filed, at which time he resigned his position.
"This type of criminal activity can impact any community," Upper Arlington Police Chief Brian Quinn said. "It's especially difficult when it involves someone we all have confidence and trust in."
Pelloski faces up to 10 years in prison. His sentencing date has yet to be set.
