Stores Stay Open for Last-Minute Shoppers

COLUMBUS (Ben Garbarek) -- If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping list by now, you're probably out of luck.

Many shoppers waited until the last minute and crossed off the remaining items on their lists on Christmas Eve.

"I was happy to see other people here," said shopper Veronica Garan.  "It makes me feel like less of an idiot.  Other people are getting last minute things."

Most shoppers claim they are usually more proactive taking care of their Christmas gift buying.

"I used to be better about getting gifts on time," she said.  "Lately I've become that last-minute shopper."

Target stayed open until 10pm trying to accommodate these procrastinators.

"It's a bad habit," said shopper Rich Pomales.  "But I tend to focus more last minute."

He only had a video game for his foreign exchange student left on his shopping list.

"(It's a) last-minute cross out," he said.  "Now I get to go home, relax and, well, start wrapping."
