Woman Battling Cancer Says Crooks Stole Her Bike

WHITEHALL (James Jackson) -- A Central Ohio woman battling breast cancer asked for the public's help after her bike was stolen.

Drema Foster said her bike is much more than a means to get around.

"I can't walk," she said. "The chemo has settled in my legs and I have what they call chemo-neuropathy and it prevents me from walking, but not riding that bike."

Last month, she rode that bike to the Columbus Metropolitan Library's Whitehall Branch to drop off some movies. She placed it against a window outside. When she came out, the bike was gone.

Foster filed a report with Whitehall police and looked at surveillance pictures from the library. She says they show three young men taking off with her property.

"The taller one, he went into the library to look around and see where the security guard was. When they didn't see him standing right there, he came out and they jumped on the bike and they took off," Foster said.

Foster describes the bike as a 1980's copper- colored Schwinn tourist bike with a rack on the back. If you see it, give police a call or for more information on this story email James Jackson at
