'Knock-Out Game' Reported in Delaware

COLUMBUS -- The "knock-out game" seems to be gaining national traction, and that is concerning local law enforcement in central Ohio.

This trend involves punching strangers, young and old, to the ground. The stunts are often captured on video and uploaded on the Internet.

While the dangerous game started in larger cities, the Delaware Police said they have been receiving reports of similar attacks.

"It's completely unexpected," said one victim, who was reportedly attacked in November. "I heard of it happening, but I never thought that it would ever happen to me."

The 17-year-old victim said he was walking home from a friend's home when people came around a corner and hit him.

Local police said another young man was punched to the ground last week. They said that in both cases, the attackers made no demands or verbal threats.

Three young people have been arrested and Delaware police are looking for a fourth suspect. The suspects were charged with multiple counts of assault.

The Delaware Police Department advised to be aware of your surroundings and limit your distractions when strangers are approaching you.
