Police Searching for 3rd Suspect in SE Columbus Murder
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of a third suspect in a murder that may have involved partners in an illegal drug business.
Police are searching for Terrille Ellis in connection with the murder of Shaun Fullen inside the victim's Southeast Columbus apartment on November 21.
Police have already arrested Ellis's suspected accomplices, Melanie Spears and Derrick Robinson, who are each charged with aggravated murder for their alleged roles in the crime.
Spears told investigators she had recently teamed up with Fullen -- the son of a Columbus fire battalion chief and a Columbus police detective -- to sell marijuana and prescription pills. She is believed to have visited Fullen's home multiple times on the night of his death.
Detectives believe Spears planned a robbery of Fullen's apartment with Ellis and Robinson, who allegedly shot the victim in the chest. The three suspects then allegedly fled the home with stolen cash, guns, and drugs.
Bail amounts of $2 million have been set for Spears and Robinson.
A third suspect, Ryan Messer, was found with one of the stolen guns in his possession, according to court documents. He was arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property, and is being held by authorities on a $100,000 bail amount.
