Last Minute Shoppers Cash in on Holiday Deals

COLUMBUS (James Jackson) -- Right now, shoppers are braving the cold and long lines hoping to cash in on last minute deals before Christmas.

Long lines are the norm these days inside Best Buy. Crowds of people hunting for that perfect Christmas gift. Managers at Best Buy say they've seen a big jump in business compared to a regular Monday. It's one of the top ten busiest shopping days of the year. Graham Allison shops for his son. But, it's another close family member, who gets on him for waiting until the last minute. "If you ask my wife, she'll say you're a man and you always wait. So yea, that's my MO," Allison said.

It's a similar Christmas story at HoneyBaked Ham. Today is the store's busiest day of the year. Missy McCoy's family is changing tradition. They usually travel, but decided to stay in town. She's picking up her Christmas ham. "We're hoping it's going to be delicious. But it's been in and out so fast that we're really anxious to eat it," McCoy said.

Supervisors at Beauty First say they bring in more employees for the holiday season and work extra hours. The shelves stay full. They order double the products.

If you still have that last-minute holiday itch, Best Buy stays open until midnight.
