Large Amount of Drugs Found After Newark Dispute, Crash
NEWARK (Chelsea Spears) -- What started as a domestic disturbance ended in a vehicle crash and the discovery of large quantities of marijuana in Newark early Saturday morning, according to a press release.
Newark Police responded to a domestic situation before 1:00 a.m. at 224 Deo Drive where 24-year-old Brandon Clemmons admits to firing a handgun inside the home while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Police do not believe the shots were aimed at an individual.
When officers attempted to detain and question Clemmons, he fled in a vehicle and crashed into an AEP pole off VanTassel Avenue.
After the crash, police found large quantities of marijuana and cash inside the vehicle.
Clemmons was booked in the Licking County Justice Center with charges of improper handling of a firearm and the use of weapons while intoxicated.
Clemmons may face additional charges as the investigation continues.
