Firefighters Help South Columbus Students Celebrate Christmas

COLUMBUS (Jen French) -- Columbus firefighters spent Friday serving a Christmas lunch and giving gifts to elementary students in South Columbus.

Fire Fighters Against Drugs (FFAD) has been serving a holiday lunch to a different school every year for more than two decades. The program aims to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

"We hope that it's going to make it a very merry Christmas for them," said Larry Sims with FFAD.

This year, firefighters served turkey and potatoes to kids at Watkins Elementary. Volunteers also gave away toys and a dozen bicycles through a raffle.
