Drive Sober Campaign Starting Up for the Holiday Season

POWELL (Tara Morgan) -- Powell police visit restaurants and bars with a stern holiday message about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Officer Travis Dennison and Amy Bean delivered red bows and flyers Wednesday night.

It's part of the Tis The Season to Drive Sober campaign in Powell.

"They don't realize that by calling a taxi can prevent not only money but also their life from being completely changed," said Officer Dennison.

Bean says she lost a loved one to drinking and driving nearly ten years ago.

She doesn't want anyone else to have to go through what she did.

"I was left with two kids by myself and that alone should be enough to make a person stop before they get behind the wheel," said Bean.

Officer Dennison says he has seen a steady decline in drinking and driving arrests in the last five years.
