UPDATE: Third Suspect Connected to SE Side Murder Arrested

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police have arrested a woman believed to have been the accomplice in a SE Columbus murder investigation.

Melanie Spears was booked in the Franklin County Jail Tuesday on one count of aggravated murder and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a Franklin County judge set a $2 million bail for Derrick Robinson, who has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 38-year-old Shaun Fullen.

Fullen --  the son of a Columbus fire battalion chief and a Columbus police detective -- was found shot to death inside his Smith Road apartment on November 21.

Investigators believe Robinson and Spears killed Fullen before fleeing the home with stolen cash, guns, and drugs.

A third suspect, Ryan Messer, was found with one of the stolen guns in his possession, according to court documents. He was arraigned on charges of tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property, and is being held by authorities on a $100,000 bail amount.
