Snow Warriors Hit the Streets

COLUMBUS (James Jackson) -- The City of Columbus' Snow Warriors are out in full force tonight, helping you battle ice and snow in the area. 51 trucks are hitting the streets.

The first priority for crews are freeways like 315 and 104. Also main streets like Broad Street, Morse Road, Parsons Avenue and Bethel Road.

The second priority are residential streets like Eastmoor Boulevard, Kenwick Road and Summit Row Boulevard.

The third priority are residential streets plowed only after four inches of snow are on the ground and after the higher priority streets are clear. Driver Bobby Weese says he's glad crews are hard at work. "It makes me feel pretty good you know that they're clearing the roads for us. With my work, I deliver beer so it helps out with semis getting through and stuff. Less wrecks. It's nice," Weese said.

The Snow Warriors have a big job. They're responsible for more than 6,000 miles of roadways. That's more than Cleveland and Cincinnati combined.

They'll be working tonight through Sunday morning.
