Columbus Police to Auction Stolen Goods

SOUTH COLUMBUS (Maria Durant/Kate Liebers) -- One criminal's stolen property could become another person's Christmas present.
Columbus Police Department has scheduled to hold its auction this Saturday, when it plans to put seized items to bid.

Many of items are related to gaming.

"We have PlayStation, XBox, Wii, game units, accessories, Blue Rays and DVDs," Sgt. Jason Grunkenmeyer said. "Lucky enough for a lot of kids, they are going to get a good deal."

Grunkenmeyer said the games and consoles were seized when officers determined a store had been buying stolen property.

Other items will also be available, including bikes, Ugg boots, and even a snow blower.

The bidding is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at the CPD property room. Doors open at 9 a.m.

CPD said the department can only accept cash and cannot guarantee any of the items purchased. The Police Property Room is located at 724 E. Woodrow Ave.
