Clintonville Residents Upset About New Bus Stop

COLUMBUS -- A new COTA bus stop has many Clintonville residents upset about the people it has attracted.

"We've had people on our stoop, our front porch, in our front yard," Cinnamon Reihold said. "I've had people say things that were completely inappropriate so I have to take a different path to get to my house."

Reihold lives feet away from the new stop, which opened a few months ago on North Broadway near High Street.

COTA officials said they had to move the stop west from its original High Street location to keep up with increased transfers. The transit authority installed a concrete slab for the new riders, but neighbors had said that's not enough.

Developers said they are reviewing traffic patterns before they build a shelter and trash receptacles at the new stop.

In the meantime, Reihold said she fears for people's safety.

"You will see people playing Frogger to get across to Kroger," she said. "I'm afraid someone will get hit."
