OSU's Noah Spence Suspended for 3 Games for Big Ten Violation

COLUMBUS (Kelsey Mallahan) -- Sophomore defensive end Noah Spence was suspended for three games, including Friday's Discover Orange Bowl, for a Big Ten Conference rule violation, according to the Ohio State University Athletic Department.

OSU officials didn't say what the violation was, but said Spence's parents have exhausted the appeal processes with the Big Ten.

The Academic All-Big Ten honoree and OSU Scholar-Athlete did not travel with his teammates to Florida ahead of the Discover Orange Bowl.

Spence will practice with the team in the spring, but will not be eligible to play in an Ohio Sate game until September 13, 2014 against Kent State.
