Woman Allegedly Slashes Clerk's Face at Dublin Gas Station

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A woman found hiding in bushes behind a Dublin-area gas station is in police custody after allegedly slashing a clerk's face with a knife early Wednesday morning.

The suspect allegedly tried to use gift cards and a credit card make a purchase at Turkey Hill on Tuttle Crossing Boulevard at approximately 2 a.m., but the payment methods were not accepted.

The suspect then told the clerk that she was robbing the station, and slashed the man in the face with a knife before binding his hands, according to police. She then allegedly forced him to the back of the building, where she ordered him to destroy surveillance footage.

The woman eventually left the station while carrying a bag full of gift cards and lottery tickets, but was apprehended while hiding in bushes behind the station where the crime occurred, according to investigators.

The employee is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries at Riverside Methodist Hospital. The suspect has been charged with aggravated robbery.
