OSU Band Departs for Miami Ahead of Snow Storm

COLUMBUS (Adam Slinger) -- The Best Damn Band in the Land departed at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday for Miami, FL. The students will be on the ground in the sunshine state for the Orange Bowl for less than 72 hours.

Its going to be a good time said Sean Tennant, a senior. We are going to go in there and show them what its all about.

Many fans are leaving on Thursday, but with snow in the forecast, traveling may be difficult. Even if the runways are fine, the roads leading to the airport could cause traffic delays.

If any fans miss one of the three direct flights from Port Columbus to Miami on Thursday, there is only one direct flight on Friday that would arrive before game time. The sale price for that Friday morning ticket was listed for about $400 on Wednesday night.

Last year we didn't get to go [to a bowl game], so it was kind of a bummer, said Tennant. This year we are going to a BCS bowl, and that's big.
