Bystander Rescues Man who Drove into Delaware Pond

DELAWARE -- A bystander rescued a driver from a retention pond when he lost control in the Thursday snow storm.

Officers said the man heroically dove into the water after the driver swerved off William Street near Carson Farms Boulevard.

Divers from Tri-Township Fire Department helped pull the truck from the water.

"Definitely a hero today," Assistant Fire Chief Doug Stewart said. "Good job to the gentleman who helped out and everybody included that helped out."

Both men were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital "to warm up," officers said.

In Oct. 2010, a cab went into the same pond.
