Driver Takes Child to School After Accident in NE Columbus

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A driver was cited by police after allegedly striking a young student in an intersection, and then driving the child to school on Thursday morning.

The child suffered a minor injury when he or she was bumped by the car in a crosswalk at Mock Road and Jermain Drive in East Columbus at approximately 8:30 a.m.

After the accident, the driver transported the child to school at FCI Academy, according to police, who cited the motorist for failure to yield.

The injured child's parents have been notified about the accident.
