Bexley Police Search for Armed Robber in Animal Cap

COLUMBUS -- Officers asked the public to help them locate the "Critter Cap Bandit," who allegedly robbed a bank Tuesday morning. 

The suspect earned his name after allegedly robbing a Chase Bank in Bexley while wearing a blue-green cap with an animal face on it.

He reportedly showed a handgun as he demanded money at the bank, located at 2660 E. Main Street. The robbery occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect was described as a slender white man in his 30s who is about 6'2'' tall. He was wearing a grey hooded jacket in addition to the animal cap.

The Bexley Police Department asked anyone with information about the robbery to contact officers at (614) 559-4444.
