Delivery Drivers Taking it Slow as Plows Work to Clear Snow

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- Delivery drivers aren't taking any chances on the roads as city and state plows work to clear snow.

ABC6/FOX28 caught up with Zak Ryan who was delivering pizzas Thursday night.

"They always tell us hey be careful out there be safe make sure you take your time no need to be super fast," said Ryan with Grandad's Pizza in Grandview Heights.

Late Thursday, Columbus had nearly 70 trucks plowing major roads.

Columbus plows tackle smaller neighborhood roads when the main ones are clear.

ODOT had 130 plows salting and clearing interstates.

Ryan is used to driving in snow but says he's had a few close calls.

"Most customers  are pretty understanding of the conditions if we need to we'll tack on 5 to 10 minutes to our delivery time," said Ryan.

Columbus asks that when they do get to smaller roads, homeowners move their cars off the streets so the plows can get by.
