Alleged Serial Sex Offender Faces Judge in Columbus

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A man accused of serial sex offenses appeared in court for the second time in three days as prosecutors filed new charges related to alleged incidents of groping in the Ohio State University campus area.

A Franklin County judge set a bail amount of $50,000 for Lonnie Sturdivant on Wednesday in connection with two incidents at Panera on N. High Street in November and December during which he allegedly grabbed the backsides of at least three women.

Sturdivant was also given a $50,000 bail amount on Monday after allegedly groping a student at OSU's Thompson Library. He was also charged with two drug offenses related to that incident.

The sexual imposition charges are the latest in a series of such accusations faced by Sturdivant in recent years. The 56-year old was convicted of the crime five times from 2011 to 2013, according to investigators.
