New Social Media Campaign to Save Nursing Facility
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE (Tara Morgan) -- A passionate plea for help from people who work at a longtime nursing home on the verge of closing its doors.
Carlton Manor in Washington Court House is about to lose its state license and federal funding.
The Ohio Department of Aging said last week there's a number of deficiencies, issues with assaults and supervision.
It's home to people with psychiatric and behavioral disorders and more than two dozen registered sex offenders.
One woman in the nursing department took to Facebook to save Carlton Manor.
She asked that she not be identified.
"I got angry I was disappointed in the system because I think it's a tragic failure," said the caregiver.
She says she agrees things need to change at Carlton Manor and that new management started to make improvements.
"The building is not being shut down for quality of care the quality of care has been there it's the support that hasn't been," said the caregiver.
She says residents will not be kicked out when the funding stops that homes need to be found first.
