Police: Stolen Vehicle Spotted During S. Columbus Shooting

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A vehicle stolen from a North Olmsted apartment complex, and then allegedly used during a robbery, was spotted during a recent shooting in Columbus, according to police.

Witnesses told investigators an unidentified suspect fired a gun from a seat inside the silver or gray Honda CRV near Walmart on S.High Street on Wednesday.

The CRV was stolen Monday after a suspect forced the elderly owner of the vehicle to hand over his keys.

Investigators believe that suspect then used the CRV in an armed robbery at BP on Lorain Road, during which he brandished a butcher knife.

The Ohio license plate of the stolen CRV is 609-WWD. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.
