Child Trampled by Amish Buggy in Knox County

BRINKHAVEN -- A child was injured when a horse-drawn carriage fell apart Wednesday afternoon, but is expected to survive.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officers at the Mt. Gilead post said five passengers were in an Amish buggy when a pin came loose, separating the carriage from the horse.

The child, whom officers have not yet identified, was then thrown into the street in the 16000 block of Millersburg Road.

The child is recovering at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OSHP reported.
