3 Killed in Delaware Co. Crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP / Kelsey Mallahan) -- Authorities say a car lost control on a central Ohio roadway and crashed into a tree, killing three people inside and sending another person to the hospital in critical condition Sunday.

Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert Curry says that 33-year-old driver James W. Wyatt III, 28-year-old Elizabeth Wyatt, and the woman's young daughter died at the scene on state route 229 in Delaware County at approximately 6:18 p.m. The Wyatts were brother and sister and all three victims lived in Marion.

Curry says 22-year-old Jessica Wray, of Alexandria, Va., was the front-seat passenger and is in critical condition at OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Authorities believe snow on the road played a role in the crash.

Investigators, who originally thought that no one in the crash was wearing a seat belt, later said the lone survivor was wearing one.
