Man Wants Help Paying for Repairs after Hitting Pothole

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- A man says he wants someone to help foot a hefty bill after he hit a massive pothole that damaged his wheel.

Doug Edwards says he was driving to work Monday morning when he hit a pothole on the ramp to I-270 East near 23 South.

"I'm looking back checking my blind spot and everything and when I looked back to not hit the car in front of me I slam into this pothole," said Edwards.

Edwards not only had to change a flat tire, his spare was leaking and the tire shop told him his wheel was dented and needed repair.

"I could use the help with repairing at least the wheel I was expecting to pay for new tires at some point but not a new wheel," said Edwards.

ODOT says that section of roadway is in a construction zone which falls under the responsibility of a contractor.

ODOT recommends drivers contact its District 6 office by calling  740-833-8268. You can also email
